Baby Apple snails? Empty Baby Apple snails?

Post by dipsydoodlenoodle Mon Aug 06, 2012 3:11 pm

My purple apple snails eggs have just hatched. I'm just wondering should I provide any extra special care to the babies?

I do have cuttlefish which I can add to help with calcium? Is there anything extra I should be doing to give them the best start in life?

P.S. it's been ages since I've been on - the new look site looks fab Smile excited

I am sorry I haven't been here for a few weeks.. been busy with my new job schedule.

I just homed the last 4 of the 50 baby Apple Snails this morning.. now I suffer from empty nest syndrome.. I gave my babies a calcium tablet once a month to promote a healthy shell. The fish will not mess with it, and the snails flock to it. I fed them algae wafers 2 times a month, and shrimp pellets every 2 or 3 days. I raised mine in my Betta tank. She is a good sitter for baby snails. I kept 4 babies for myself, only because I am partial to the offspring... maybe another batch in the future, as I am so trying for a few blue, or jade babies..

Any questions, just ask or email me.. ladygoodwrench at gmail.com
