Tank update
I hope to have 3x 4ft tanks arriving this weekend. They are on a 3 tired stand.
Once they arrive the reshuffling starts. I am pulling down my 4ft planted tank, it will be changing over to oranda goldfish. It also needs to be moved to another location in the house, as does the 5ft (it is staying as a goldy tank). So fish will be temp housing for a bit while their permanat homes get redone (i am removing the backing black plastic and painting the actual backs and sides of all the tanks, tired of water getting between the plastic and the glass).
The peps are moving to one of the 4fts, as will the cherry shrimp. Middle 4ft will house the community fish from the old planted 4ft. Other tanks no firm ideas yet
Will be replacing all sand in the tanks with PFS

Re: Tank update
Sounds like a lot of hard work! But knowing what you're tanks look like, the tiered stand is going to look incredible!
Looking forward to seeing photos!
Just out of curiosity, the cherry tank, are they the sole occupants of the tank? My OH is always going on about how he'd like a big tank stocked with just shrimp, and I was just wondering what it's like?

Re: Tank update
Yeah it will be a juggle of work, but hopefully they come up ok at the end!
The cherry tank is cherries only.......tis a bit feral at present due to plants filling the tank completely, and me leaving it alone. But when cared for, plants trimmed etc, it looked great. Once shrimp numbers build up, seeing plants with red all over em is pretty cool

Re: Tank update
Sooooooooooo The tanks arrive tomorrow (confirmed!) and i am soooo not ready lol
But i will prevail.....major overhaul time is a coming!
In the fish and tank shuffle around, all tanks will be having the backing removed and the back and sides painted. Annoys me when stuff gets between the plastic and the glass.

Re: Tank update
Snapped a quick pic of it
The ends will have false sides put into the stand (so i can pull off and access if needed) to keep it looking tidy. The stand also has a single 4ft light above each tank which is a bonus. They cut all new lids for it too, unexpected but nice of them indeed

Re: Tank update
Wow, very nice! It's going to look fantastic once you have them filled, planted, etc.
Feeling very envious

Thanx Flute.
I'm really impressed with them. Wish i could get the other 2 as well, but that would be pushing my tolerant hubby just a tad too far me thinks lmao

Re: Tank update
I prefer the painted look, much neater and nothing can get between it and the tank *L* I will be doing all of mine as they are moved
Its easy to get off if i wanted to, but i cant forsee me needing to do that
