Lost a Minnow Empty Lost a Minnow

The morning meal went off without a hitch. Everyone appeared happy. 30 minutes later, I was watching the activities, and a Minnow shot out of nowhere, out of the water, bounced off the lid, sank, shot to the surface again... and DIED...... I quickly took water readings.. Ammo = 0. Nitrite = 0. Nitrate = 10. I did a 50% water change Thursday morning. (48 hours ago)... I observed the Minnow. I saw nothing out of the ordinary. No bloat, no redness, no fuzz.... looked like a normal healthy fish.

Did something spook the fish??

If your readings are accurate then the only things I can think of is it got spooked and brained itself on the lid, or it had some internal problem.

I have seen this happen a few times with fish. You will never know why unfortunately, it seems to be one of those things Sad

I will keep you guys posted if anything else goes funky.. I go back to work tonight, so won't get to study the tank as I will sleep today, and work over night.
