Numb with sadness this morning Empty Numb with sadness this morning

I have lost my beautiful diadema Bailey Sad, tragicly taken so fast. I noticed a small mark on her mouth a few days back, I thought lip locking injury as she will challange the tetramerus, sadly no, another fish with a tumour. Tumours are supposedly a rare occurance in fish keeping, but the last 12 months I have lost a geophagus, true parrot and oddbodd the convict x severum to tumours. With everything else going on at the moment loosing Bailey has just about broke me, I am sitting here wondering weather to pack in fishkeeping, the heartache to loose a fish to tumours is awful. No matter how clean I keep my tanks it is totally unpreventable and out of my control.

I know Sad But if you have large numbers of the same animal, whether it's fish, dogs, humans etc., there's going to be a certain number who will develop cancer because it is such a common occurring disease. Bailey and the others had wonderful lives with you, in fantastic tanks, and I think that's what counts the most, that you did everything you could for them.

I work so hard on my tanks I think this is what is so upsetting, the texas incident nearly wiped me out but I keep bouncing back to tragidy after tragidy. Maybe just 1 tank, less fish less heartache, but how the heck would I pick which fish to keep, thats impossible!
