Who's your net with?? Some companies will charge you an arm and a leg to disconnect.
BT for example will charge you a £30 disconnection fee, plus money owed since last monthly payment, plus one months usage as they require 30 days notice of disconnection.

Wow, great service :/
My only worry with sky is that they are ranked pretty low for internet speeds, I couldn't go with them for fear of having dreadful internet.
That said, who can you get good net from these days. Hope you get something figured out.

O2 are really decent providers, obviously speed depends on your area, but price wise they're good, and if you have an O2 phone you get discounts.
Hope it's not too long before you can come back.

Speaking to hubby if we can sort it out correctly we might only be off a couple of days . We need to do something £60/month for internet & tv is stupid we did used to get a discount because we had been a customer of virgin for many years.

Sky are giving me the run around, they will no longer let me have the origional deal, they want to charge me more per month, cant affort it, virgin still hasnt turned us off yet either (hence why posting) so no doubt I will suddenly disappear. God know what we will do!

Have you tried Be? Apparently they're supposed to be pretty fair, compared to companies like BT who want like £30 per month. https://www.bethere.co.uk/web/beportal/homepage
And it sounds bloody out of order what Sky are doing- I'm sure if you got stroppy enough and said that you're really disappointed with their service, that you'll never be buying any of their products and will tell all your friends how poorly they've treated you they'll soon change their tune.
And do you or your hubby have a contract phone? Because if you do then sometimes your provider will offer good deals for internet broadband, like O2 and Orange.

Re: Bye Bye internet 2
If things don't work out with Sky, have a look at o2, it's who we're with for internet and they're fantastic. Really helpful and they got the internet sorted within a week of us ordering it.
Because you have a pay as you go phone, it means that as long as you top up at least £10 every 3 months, you get a discount on the monthly fees.
I don't know if these prices are any better than Sky's or not, but as I said, if things fall through with Sky, give o2 a go. If you can get them in your area, then they're really good. http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband
