Is it going okay??

So as some of you may know a few days ago I moved our 6 inch severum in with our 6inch Oscar.

There was an Angelfish but it was causing too much trouble and had to be removed. Funny that out of all 3 fish the Angelfish was the most aggressive.

So since the introduction theres been a few lip-locking sessions, plenty of flaring and defensive body positions, and the Oscar has a single bite wound on its left hand side (down to the white flesh).

The Sev is definately in charge, with my Oscar generally trying to stay away and there is some bullying going on.. But generally, I think this is just a bit of a territory war to establish pecking order, and I think if it was going to escalate it wouldve done so by now.

Am I correct or should i seperate them?

This sounds just like Vinny & Rusty when they were together, Rusty was always getting the odd bite, once Rusty realised he was bigger than Vinny that is when war broke out. Rusty pinned Seymour (who never bothered him) in the one corner not letting him out and Vinny in the other. I removed Rusty then before any more trouble. If trouble accepts that promo will be the boss they will be ok, but I would keep a close check as Trouble will grow a lot faster than Promo.

We're keeping very watchful eyes on them.

It is all you can do really, there is no guarantee they will get on and no guarantee they will hate each other, at the end of the day they have their own personalities. They may end up like rainbow and tich, they tollerate each other but will lip lock and glare away at each other every chance they get. So long as they are not damaging each other I would leave them and not interfere.

These plants make excellent tank dividers without seperating the fish, it is what I use with rainbow and tich.

No worries with Sevs and plastic plants?? Because Promo REALLY hates plants.

These ones are really tough and thick plastic, not the prettiest plants admittedly, but they can withstand Rainbow and Tich yanking on them and they have bloody big teeth lol

Ah thats good news, well i'm having a job interview tomorrow and if it goes well i'll treat myself to some tank decorations

Well the bad news is the job interview was like a train crash.

The good news is Trouble and Promo now seem to be (begrudgingly) getting along, only the odd mouth flare at each other.

This is good news, and I look forward to taking some photos and etc of them together.
