Bye bye internets
Just thought I'd post a quick message saying that I might be offline for a couple of weeks. Bryn and I have finally got our own place and will be moving tomorrow to Northwich in Cheshire
I don't think it'll take me long for withdrawal symptoms for this place to start

Re: Bye bye internets
Good luck. Won't be too long and I might be internetless for a couple weeks as we move.
Re: Bye bye internets
Haha, it's only been two weeks but I've missed this place
Everything went well, I love it here, and there are several lfs! I'm used to only one dingy pet shop and Pets At Home for fish, so I'm spoiled for choice now XD
I'll be moving the tanks down next weekend.

Re: Bye bye internets
It's great to be back
Our flat is only a small 1 bedroom, but I'm commandeering one of the walls in the lounge for the tanks No room or money for a corner tank sadly So expensive!
There's a 4 footer on ebay that's going for £170, including stand, filter, etc, and he's willing to deliver (I has no car!) so I've asked for more info on it.
After my last 2nd hand tank lasting just over a year, I'm a bit weary of getting another 2nd hand, but if it's in good condition then it could be just the thing until we move to a bigger place in the future.
If not, I've been begging my OH for an APS 3 footer
Looking forward to seeing it Rusty Let me know if you need me to make any changes to it And it's great to see that this place is coming back to life!

Re: Bye bye internets
Well I got a reply;
"The tank has small superficial scratches. The stand is about 44"x13" not sure on hight. There is a crack in the bottom of the tank but has been reinforced and is double skined so i would even put a garentie on the tank. I have had it for years not a peep out of it ! "
The tank is only about 124 ltrs or so, which is crap I don't think I would risk it anyway if it's cracked. Oh well...back to searching

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. Seeing as I don't have a job yet, any money for a tank would come from Bryn. The APS tank is £270, and I can tell he's not happy with spending that much (understandable), so anything under £200 really
I still have the Rio 180 stand, I just can't find a tank to replace for it. Max size tank would have to be 4 foot I'd think.
I'm just crazy limited as to what I can try for as I have no way of getting it back here unless people are willing to deliver.

Re: Bye bye internets
When I have completed my fish shuffle I should have a juwel rio 240 & 260 available, the 260 is black and has scratches and the light bar has gone bang so that will be cheap, the 240 is in beech and should (if the plan works out) have a working light unit that one is a nice tank with very minimal scratches. I can have a word with hubby about delivery, but they wont be available very quick

Re: Bye bye internets
Hmm, would they include the cabinets too? If so, how much would you be looking for for the 240 once it's available?
Waiting is no problem I've got to get them down here, and then I'd want to give the poor buggers a rest before I then changed them to another tank again anyway.
I keep dreaming about having to move the fish! The other night there were catfish and frogs climbing up the curtains, and last night I was putting fish in sandwich bags which kept ripping! I think I miss my tanks a little bit, lol!

Oh yes got the stands with both of them I will have to talk it over with hubby see what it would cost delivery wise. Unless in the meantime I find a home for meatball & noodle, chap that came and collected my koi oohed at them for a second or two till Meatball launched at the lid
Your best off getting a cool box to transport the fish, no risk of bags breaking .

Okies, thanks Star! Hehe, there's a Waterlife Aquatics here if that would make the journey any more worth while , lol
Meatball isn't selling himself very well, is he? I'm glad you managed to move the koi on ^^
I was going to use a cool box as you suggested before, but then I realised I'm moving fish that can't really be mixed, i.e. krobia, betta, and then I have shrimp too. I was going to buy a load of large bags for the krobia, gourami and plec, and then double bag them. I've got quite a few poly boxes that smaller fish could go in, like the corys and betta.
But I may still look into a cooler for the slightly larger fish

Re: Bye bye internets
That would be good, but sadly it would only be hubby, couldnt get the tank, me & the kids in the car , we have no one that babysits you see, dont know why the boys are good as gold for other people.
I think meatball has plans on staying, he is a right bugger if we have visitors, just like chops used to be and noodle just hides

Re: Bye bye internets
I dont think hubby is going to allow it he is asking everyone if they want an oscar lol, I would love to keep the two of them, but I know what oscars are like, if they suddenly decide they dont like each other anymore I will not have a spare tank to split them up

No worries Star Thanks for trying though <3
If I had more space for another bigger tank I'd take the oscars in heart beat.
There's a North Wales and Cheshire fish group on Facebook, I could post about them on there if you want? Spread out the interest a bit- lots of people from that group seem to travel to collect fish
