Terrifying dog walk
I have just got back from the park with Liz & Kes and am still shaking after smoking 3 fags
For some unknow reason Liz started heading down a dirt path towards the duel carridgeway, now this is a kids play area and there is only a line of trees between it and a horrifically buzy road. Since her stroke & toe removal Liz has not been able to go any faster than a slow trot, no today heading for the main road she managed a fast lollop. God knows what she smelt or was doing be she had a blank expression on her face looking directly at me as I was calling her. Of course I start to panic and go towards her (yes I do know better but I was panicing) and she went faster towards the road. Kes was off the lead also and she went with Liz, I called them both to come and turned and ran in the opposite direction, thankfully they both did follow. The change in expression on Lizzies face was almost like "hey where you been!" scared the dooberies out of me I can tell you, 14 years and she has never gone far from me let alone run away it was like she had spaced out for a couple of minutes.

Re: Terrifying dog walk
Sounds horrible! Maybe something spooked her?
If she can, Saxon will leg it out of the house if doors are slammed. And once she's gone, she'll look back at you, but just run and run. She never does it otherwise. Maybe Liz heard something?
Good thing they both decided following you was more fun than running onwards!

I have been keeping a careful check on her all day, she is very spaced out still, although it was a long walk, and lurchers do tend to sleep all day. She does have me a little worried.

Re: Terrifying dog walk
I didnt take Liz for a walk in the end as she was sick, she has been very sleepy all day, the walk yesterday was quite long and it may just be she is worn out. I have called the vet, they have told me not to worry as she is not wobbling or tilting her head and there is no flickering in her eyes, she is just very sleepy. The vets will leave a note for the duty vet just in case her eyes do start to flick or she does wobbly
