Hypancistrus either L129 or L340
Hi All,
I got some new fish at the weekend, for a long term breeding project, so thought I should share!
These are wild caught from Columbia and came in as L129's. They are either L129 (Columbian Zebra Plec) or L340 (Mega Clown Plec) but I have no idea how to tell the difference. They are too small to breed or sex at the moment so I will have to be patient.

That's a LOT of pleccies!
I think they're L129s, going by the markings and fin colouration etc, but i'm absolutely no expert on the matter.

I did a big clean today and when all the ornaments were out I tried to grab some better pics with my camera rather than my phone.
Here they are;
From above:
Hopefully at least one of them is good enough!
All of them seem to have the start of odontodes on their pectorals, does this mean they are all male!?

I think Plecs are so adorable. If I had a big tank, I would have a couple in it.
Re: Hypancistrus either L129 or L340
Sorry Sam I have no idea, as for which sort or sexing them.
L. You can get small plecs, the bristlenose is a small one

All I have is a 25 gallon tank.... if a Bristlenose would be happy... I will shop for one!!!!
Research says it is 5 inches full grown.. I have 2 weather loaches in this tank, and I think a BN would strain the bioload too much...
I am open for opinions, suggestions...

They've bulked up a lot since I got them and this weekend I have moved them to larger tank with better flow but not as good match in water i.e. it's harder than the ideal.
When I moved them I took some pics;
Hope you like the pics,
Sam
