Hi

Hope your all doing okay.

I know I've not posted a lot but I wanted to let you know that after losing all our lovely Aequidens Cichlids at once a month or so ago (one of our heater thermostats failed and the temperature shot up to 39C overnight, killing them all), we've made the sad decision to give up fish keeping altogether. Sad

I will be adding everything for sale once we've gone through it all, but at this moment in time if anyone is interested a full setup (48"x20"x20" tank with stand and Hood, Eheim 2028 Ex filter, 1 heater but can't remember the wattage, 2 lights, an air pump with 4 outlets, plus gravel, plants and ornaments, looking for about £170ish, we live near Manchester). Crying or Very sad

Look out for other posts with all the items I'm selling including a 3 stage HMA Unit over the next few weeks.

Take care everyone.

Hiya

Thanks for your replies.

The only hobby we have now is our Cornsnakes, my son has one that's nearly 3 yrs old and I have one that's nearly two yrs old.

The reason we've decided to give up fish keeping is because my back problems are getting worse and I was struggling to do stuff with the tank. It's unfair to leave it to my husband when he does enough now as it is.

I'M aware people don't have much money for things, so would you all rather I didn't put my stuff on the site for sale?

Take care everyone.

You can list everything you have for sale, someone might see it that is able to have it, and on AC too Smile It is blooming cheap for the whole set up, I wish I had the money as one of my 300l tanks is leaking slightly Sad

Hi Star

Okay will do once we've sorted it all out. Quite a lot of stuff that we've collected over the years are in the shed, so that all needs taking out too.

I know a few things off the top of my head:-

One is an Eheim gravel cleaner which works great.

Another is a slightly leaking Eheim 2028 external filter (I got diddled buying this as the guy who we bought it from said it didn't leak and he would never answer our calls when we tried to contact him about it, so we lost our money on it), I'm unsure whether it just needs a new seal or other work doing to it, so we would sell it as faulty.

We've also got a big roll of white filter sheet that you can use in an external filter as the top layer so it polishes the water (that would save someone a fortune). I need to measure the size but it's quite big and would make lots of layers for your filter.

These are just a few items we've bought over the years lol. Fish keeping costs a fortune doesn't it?

Oh it sure does. The filter floss on the roll is usefull, I have about 1/2 a roll left, this week I am cleaning all my filters and changing the floss, mucky job lol. The leaking filter is most likely a seal, they are not much to replace so someone would most likely buy it. I would dread going through all my fish stuff, I have been given so many bits and bobs over the years now I wouldnt know where to start, so I dont envy you that one! Smile

There is always myfishforsale also Smile free to join and advertise!!

I'm sorry to hear you are giving up fish keeping Catherine, i fully understand as to why you are giving it up and i can see it's not an easy descision.

I hope your back issues improve in the future.

I wish you good luck selling your items and good luck in the future with other hobbies.

Regards Dave
